This print, “Be You: No One else Can Be”, found its name due to this being the phrase that would often go through my head at the time of facing my biggest fears and would anchor and remind me of the simplicity in the freedom of being fully myself.

The footsteps on this scarf are the first ones taken on the banner and bring this quote into a beautiful reality “𝒂 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑” ~ Lao Tzu.

Fear of people’s opinions can be crippling. Stuck in the prison of this very fear, I was passionate to find freedom and unbox myself from the fear of other’s judgements. Realising that what I had judged in others I had then had to walk through, I decided to map out my journey and face those fears. I believed that if anyone judged me, I was giving them their own personal invitation to walk into freedom in that exact area in their life!

The journey began at a memorial of a policeman in my local town at the time. Joining the 6000 people in streets to honour him, I decided to paint my feet and dance - in blue, to symbolise the police force he served, and yellow, to symbolise the joy he spread across the city so effortlessly.

These first footprints then became the print on this scarf, “Be you”.
